Does Spinal Decompression Work For Back Pain?

Spinal decompression uses traction to stretch out your spine, relieving the pressure and pain that often occurs when your spine has become compressed. Through a series of treatments, our chiropractor can create negative pressure in the discs along your spine. If you have bulging, slipped or herniated discs, they will go back into place naturally. At the same time, more water and fluid are able to flow into spinal discs, allowing full healing to take place.

Spinal decompression may sound painful, but it is not. The treatment takes place on a special traction table. Our chiropractor moves your body through a series of positions, allowing the spine to relax and elongate naturally. Sessions typically last a half hour or more. Since we use a computer-aided table, we are able to make exact adjustments to the traction table to ensure precision and consistency in your treatment.

In some cases, we may perform other treatments either before or after your spinal decompression. These may include chiropractic, cold laser, massage therapy, or physiotherapy such as cryotherapy, moist heat, or gentle stretching.
